Stand Tall

The festive season is almost over and so is the year. This mannequin stands tall at Bugis Junction. I hope everyone has too.

City Light

It is evening in the city at the end of the year. The traffic is light when the city lights lit up. I guess many people are away from work.

This is the last working day in the office. Treated the two engineers for lunch. Its been a year of learning, understanding and also forging ahead.

One Down and One to Go

Partying season during the year end requires booze for some. The supply chain is working to supply the needs and wants before the new year.

Season Change

The winter solstice had just passed and the weather is now colder, a little. The frequency and intensity of rain has also increased with thunder and lightning.

Time of the Year

Its time to relax a bit, feast a lot and sleep in at this time of the year. Mostly done with friends in familiar surroundings.  It is been a while since I last went eating and drinking. These business are not getting my monies nowadays.

The boys are growing up fast. They have got a free fan and must have seen cartoons (hopefully, child friendly ones) on Youtube with a face in front.

Overworked Plush

This set of huge Plush Toys are on duty at Changi Terminal 3 - waiting for the next kids to play with them. They are obviously overworked - their faces need a wash as they are rather dirty.

Size is Not Strength

I was on site to check an instrument. I chanced upon a concrete brick with a solitary plant. Have a will, there will be a way.

Flowers Bloom

Being a Friend of the Garden (since June at half the price), I visit it often with my family and my different Leica gear.

This one was taken by Leica Digilux 4.3 and uses 2 x AA batteries for powering up.

Bridges and Highways

China is linking up their cities to their towns to their villages. Most of it is done on highway with bridges across the many rivers. This is now a common sight while in a travelling vehicle.

The Bund

I was in Shanghai for a business trip and realised that the camera on my LG G6 phone took better (and quicker) pictures than the Leica compact.

Auspicious Number

This is a hotel built right next to the highway to Pudong International Airport. The wish of the owner is clear - to be on that one route to prosperity.

Best of Luck!

The Sign of the Past

I wonder if this sign was put up before the boom of social media in China.

I am pretty sure that this bicycle-sharing bike does its job of transporting people from point to point. The choice of name suggests otherwise.

High Rise Trap

I was surprised to see that the Clementi town centre was been refreshed with new flats. New happy owners will move in shortly and they will have new debts to pay.

Chairs Galore

A typical scene of a lecture hall in one of Singapore's new premier university. Rolls and rolls which would need filling up to be sustainable.

Chairs Hub

The new Tampines Hub has a stage with seats nicely placed for any performance, free screening of movies and what not. It started with bean bags and too many people falling asleep. Now there are more formalised chairs.

The Odd One

I was at the Lego exhibition and can't help notice that one of the figurines surrounding had fallen. Well, its a reflection of society. I wonder if it was the intention.

Creative Enclave

Near the top of the Hill at Pearl's Hill Terrace, there exists a few vintage blocks that were probably used by the police but now houses start-ups of the creative nature. Found even a boutique hair stylist. Interesting place to be housed in.

Retro Time

I had just bought a digital watch with dual time for travelling purposes. It was a need. Then, I was intrigued by retro digital watches. I was onto ebay in a flash and took out my wallet twice to fulfill desires.

Green Patch Now

It is rare to have a green patch of land now in Singapore. I had always wanted to capture this scene besides Paya Lebar runway whenever I passed this place while trying to by-pass the traffic on TPE in the morning. I guess I better take a picture now before it transforms into some industrial buildings.

Glorious Sunshine

I can't really recall which year it was since there was so much glorious sunshine - feels almost like a US summer of 2001 for me. Perhaps, it was hazy the last few years. Well, now we await the rain.

Playground

This type of playground was usually found in the developed countries when I was growing up. It is type that I would read in books or seen on TV. How times and money changed all these. With a more affluent society and having the basic needs covered, its time to play.

My eldest is into drawing and colouring what he sees. This is a representation of the flats across his maternal grandparents' place. My brother-in-law counted the occupants.

Big Shot

My bag was returned sans the new lithium battery on my laptop. The irony was that the other battery in the side compartment of the laptop case was not removed. I can't remember if I lost any Euros. Still, it is a nice feeling that have the bag back with most of its contents intact - including the cough mixtures and nasal spray but no water in my thermal flask.  Somehow, I had gotten used to my old spare laptop. Its good to type on the wider keyboard and read from a bigger screen again.  Whilst the bag return closes a chapter, there is still a sense of loss which is difficult to explain. I guess, its just to go forward and live life again.

Like something just hatched
These made it back. Ate all except the Toblerone which was a bit yacky.

I never knew one could decorate a car with fake eye lashes. And it has curls too! Pretty close to the real life but definitely going to affect the aerodynamics.
