I guess you know where I am heading right now. Here comes the digital image.

Digital allows me to work fast and make mistakes. Of course, take lots of pictures. I read the book "Free" by Chris Anderson. In the book, he mentioned about abundance and how we can take advantage of it. That's another story for another day. Or, you can go read the book yourself.

Back to digital. I had just completed a shoot earlier on in the afternoon (which ended with a nice lunch - they even gave me a seat with my name on it). I was waitng at Chua Chu Kang to send an associate to the airport. I looked up as I was waiting for him and saw this image. I couldn't resist but to take out the camera. The grandmothers at the void deck just stared at me. It is an image they see everyday. But that day, it was special. The sky was very blue with a touch of clouds.

Instant

My first instant camera was the Spice Cam by Polaroid. Yeah, from the Spice Girls. (Got their song ringing in my head now). I also added the Polaroid i-zone - remember that? Next was the Hasselblad back, then the Fujifilm Instax Mini 50, Fujifilm Privi MP 100 infra-red printer, Polaroid One. This reminds me. I should do up a post on my collection. (I haven't done any inventory check since 2005).

Anyway, back to instant film. I love the Fuji Intax Mini pictures. Its ISO 800 film. So, you can't go very wrong with the exposure there.

This was printed out from Fuji Privi MP 100. Original picture was taken on a Sony Ericsson Cybershot K800. Location is entrance from the lift to the Liang Court Basement Carpark. Actually, I am wondering if the vertical sequence should be "GO,  LOOK, STOP" since you are stepping out from the entrance into the carpark.

Film

Film was the 1st form of photography that I came across when I was growing up. It's also the first to be invented among the 3 media.

How to describe film? Its not so hard; just a bit soft. Or, should I say not so sharp, sharp, but sharp enough espeically if it is a good camera lens.

This was taken back in 2004 when I arrived at Narita, Japan on my way to Mexico. See what I mean about the sharp but not so sharp. Furthermore, it was shot through the glass panel.

Three Cameras

Film, Instant and Digital.

Many years ago while I was on a business trip to Germany, I remember reading the International Herald Tribune about 3 forms of photography in this current age. At that moment, I realised that I was using all 3 medias and enjoyed all of them.

I have quite a large collection from all these 3 medias that I have decided that it is time to share the pictures as well as what background in which I took the pictures.

I enjoy taking pictures. I hope you will also enjoy my collection.
